Encore Co. Presents

Picture
Encore Company is bringing the incredibly popular comic-book genre to life with Comic Book Artist by Pat Lydersen. This colorful, action-packed superhero saga runs May 12-14, 2022 at 7pm in the MHHS gym. Perfect for the whole family, it runs about an hour with no intermission. Tickets will be sold at the door--$3 Students and $5 Adults.
Stanley Leonardo Sappovitz wants nothing more than to become a comic book artist. When he gets a job as a janitor at Wonder Comics, he anxiously awaits the day that his boss, D.C. Wunderman, will notice his drawings and discover his artistic genius. It seems like that day will never come until Wunderman invests in a shipment of magical pens, guaranteed to bring to life any character his artists create. When the staff artists unwittingly unleash the dreaded Doctor Shock Clock, it is up to Stanley to create his own team of superheroes. Will they have the superpowers to conquer this dastardly super-villain, who can stop time with the snap of his fingers? Only time will tell! Doctor Shock Clock is off to where else but Times Square to pull off the greatest heist of all time. Watch as the egotistical Star Guy and his “Charisma Ray,” Triple Time with his super fast speed, environmentally correct Blossom with her magical sleeping potion flowers, and the slightly grouchy but goodhearted Wombat Woman combine their special powers to try to stop the dastardly deed! Cheer for your favorites when the superheroes battle Shock Clock and his henchmen, the Minutos, only to be saved in the end by the greatest superhero of them all — Eraser Man (a.k.a. Stanley Leonardo Sappovitz)! A fun show for the whole family!

Free and Reduced Price School Meals

The Idaho Legislature passed HB790 this session, and it has now been signed by the Governor. The bill includes a formula for distributing $72 million in Literacy Funding to K-3rd graders partially based on their Idaho Reading Indicator test scores, comparing Spring 2021 to Spring 2022. There is also additional funding for a student identified as economically disadvantaged. As you know, school breakfasts and lunches have been free for all students the past two years, so we were not required to collect Free and Reduced Applications. The USDA Food Service Program has recently announced that all meals will no longer be free for all students starting in August, so we will once again be asking families to complete those forms.

While we realize this timing is less than ideal, we are asking families to please complete the Free and Reduced Application at www.mymealtime.com or by picking up the form at the office, or download the form here. (En Espanol)  If for some reason, you have already filled out the form this year, you don’t need to do it again. All students that qualify this year, will be eligible for Free or Reduced Meals for the first 30 days of school next year, so that is a positive. Families would still need to fill out an application next year before the 30 days are up.

Thank you for your assistance and we apologize for the timing of everything. All applications need to be completed by May 25th.

Honors, Achievement, Recognition, and a Career Fair

We have had a lot of awesome things going on at Mountain Home High School as the 2021-2022 year winds down. Many students have been recognized for various achievements they have accomplished this year. Congratulations to all these students for working hard and demonstrating their excellence in academics, sports, and creative arts! The student body was also able to benefit from a career fair.

Jan Hughes Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser

Congratulations to the student team who prevailed by 2 points. Nice work!
